On May 9, 1958, a community dream was fulfilled when Perryton Savings and Loan Association was chartered by the Texas Banking Commission under the Building and Loan Association Laws of the State of Texas. The purpose of this charter was to encourage industry, home building and the accumulation of savings. In 1972, as an indication of success, growth and expansion to more than just a local Savings

& Loan, the name was changed to Interstate Savings and Loan Association. By 1974, assets had grown to over $21 million and business expanded to include two branches, one at Spearman, Texas, and one at Canadian, Texas. n 1997, as a benefit and advantage to the shareholders and customers of the bank, the charter was changed to a Texas State Savings Bank Charter and the name changed to Interstate Bank, SSB. A new direction ensued at that time to diversify the bank’s assets to a more traditional commercial bank that would better serve the community’s needs.
2004 saw the bank continue to grow and expand into the Amarillo area with the opening of a loan production office. In October 2006 the bank opened a full-service branch in Amarillo to serve its vibrant, growing economy. We are pleased to have a strong staff of experienced, customer-oriented bankers and qualified bank directors who share a deep interest in the bank’s customers and in the communities served by the bank.

Please help us celebrate Mason on his first 90 days with Interstate Bank in Perryton!

Mason joined us in May as a Customer Service Representative in our Lobby and Drive-Thru, and he came to us with a clear sense of direction for his future. He’s studying finance and saw this as the perfect place to gain real experience while he builds toward his future. His intentionality at this stage of life is something we really admire.

Outside of work he's hitting the gym, spending time with family, picking up golf, and studying the markets in his spare time, so it's safe to say banking found the right person.

Please help us celebrate Kathy on her first 90 days with Interstate Bank in Perryton!

Kathy joined us in May as a Teller, and from day one she's brought exactly the kind of energy our team loves. She’s curious, warm, and genuinely invested in the people she serves. She came to banking because she's always been drawn to it, took a chance, and has been grateful for where the journey has taken her.

There’s a lot to love about Wheatheart weekend, but getting to spend it with our neighbors is always the best part.

Our Perryton team joined in the parade with candy, confetti poppers, water guns, Lady Liberty, and Mason the Eagle, and came away with 1st place for Commercial Float.

We also pitched in at the annual BBQ, helping take money and catching up with friends from across the community.

Our Perryton ATM is getting a little facelift! We just had a new one installed, and it will be out of service for a short time while everything gets set up. We do have two drive-up lanes for convenience, and they are open 8am-5pm.

Good news: this is the perfect excuse to come inside and see us. Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration weekend is here, and we'd love to help you get your spending money in person before you head out to the parade, the BBQ, or wherever the weekend takes you. Scam of the Month: This Job Won’t Work

You receive a text message from a “recruiter” who says they work for Amazon. It seems suspicious, since it was sent from a personal email address instead of a phone number. However, what catches your attention is that the message says you're a perfect fit for a remote job that pays $250 to $500 per day. You would only need to work 60 to 90 minutes per day, for four days each week, and the work isn’t difficult. There are only a small number of roles available, and since the job seems too good to be true, you might be tempted to reply immediately.

𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖 𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙢! Cybercriminals are hoping to trick you using a fake job offer that is too good to ignore. If you reply, they may even give you small tasks to make the job seem legitimate. But eventually, they’ll ask you for your personal and financial information as part of your “onboarding.” Since this “job” isn’t real, any information you send goes straight to the cybercriminals!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to this scam:

- If something seems suspicious, trust your instincts. It’s unlikely that a real Amazon recruiter would message you unexpectedly from a personal email address.
- If an opportunity seems too good to be true, it usually is! Use caution before applying for jobs that have vague descriptions and list high salaries for what seems to be a small amount of work.
- Cybercriminals like to use high-pressure tactics to trick you into responding quickly. Always stop and think before you take action!
