***Taylor County Mandatory Countywide Evacuation Order Hurricane Helene*** September 24, 2024

The Taylor County Sheriff's Office is issuing a Mandatory Evacuation Order for everyone in Taylor County due to the intensity of the forecasted Hurricane Helene effective immediately. Hurricane Helene is predicted to be a catastrophic and life threatening storm system. This system will be unlike anything we have experienced to date. A curfew is effective from sunset to sunrise. Repeat, this is a MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER for everyone. Shelter information will follow.

Note: Exemptions for the curfew will include essential businesses and persons traveling to and from work.
