🤠Another week of Fraud Friday...

Have you met this cowboy?!
If he's asking you to wire him money... it's not Kevin Costner.

A customer believed she was in a romantic relationship with actor Kevin Costner after connecting with someone online. The scammer eventually asked her to wire a large sum of money to help purchase property in another state.

Thankfully, our team asked a few extra questions, uncovered the scam, and stopped the wire before any money was lost.

Remember: If someone you've only met online asks you to send money- even if they claim to be a celebrity- it's almost certainly a scam. Slow down, ask questions, and give us a call before sending funds!

Our provider is actively working to resolve the issue. At this time, we do not have an updated timeline, but all affected transactions are expected to be corrected during end-of-day processing on Monday.

What a day!

Our annual Community Commerce Day was a huge success, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to bring everyone together. From smiling faces and family fun to local shopping and kids' activities, it was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying the event.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our participating businesses, vendors, and everyone who came out to support. Events like this are only possible because of the incredible people who make up our communities. We appreciate each and every one of you and can't wait to do it again next year!

Unfortunately, the fraud attempts we've seen this week weren't very random at all..

We've received several reports of fraudsters calling customers while pretending to be Fortress Bank representatives in an attempt to obtain personal and banking information.

As a reminder, Fortress Bank will NEVER call, text, or email asking for passwords, security codes, account information, debit card numbers, PINs, or online banking credentials. If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from Fortress Bank, don't take chances - hang up and call us directly using a trusted phone number!
