When this was brought up, I wasn’t really sure what I was going to say. When it comes down to it, your non negotiable‘s are things that you can’t just throw down. It’s some thing that you have to think about and those things change as you get older.
After almost 25 years in the medical field as a nurse, I always thought taken care of patients first was a nonnegotiable. Making sure everyone else is happy because I’m a caretaker. I realize that wasn’t so far off and it certainly wasn’t wrong, but my perspective has changed.
Some thing I’ve always made kind of a negotiable thing was God! I’m a preachers daughter, I went to church, I was a pretty good girl, I pretty much always did the right thing. But I realize that my priorities and nonnegotiable‘s were out of order and the amount of time I gave others went before God and myself.
Tomorrow I turn 53! Every year I’ve said this is going to be the year!! I’m going to read my Bible every day, I’m going to get in shape and lose a ton of weight I’m going to travel I’m going to save money. And ever you would come and go, and I read my Bible mostly. I would drop a few pounds and go to the gym for a while. I’ve traveled a little, but not as much as I would like. And well my bank accounts, that’s another story and part of the reason I’m here.
So instead of saying that this is going to be the year for me, I’m saying this is my nonnegotiable year and here are my non-negotiable items:
1. God is my priority.
2. Taking care of my family physically, and financially
3. Stop putting myself on the back burner.
4. Make this the best year ever.
5. Always have a bank account in the positive.
1 and 5 are a work in progress every day.
2,3 and 4 are already in the works. None of it’s going to be easy. But it will be done.
I have spoken!
