RE: Hurricane Dorian
Attn: Community Residents
As of today’s 9am National Hurricane Center advisory, Hurricane Dorian’s path shows a significant chance of making impact with Florida. The severity and impact location of the storm is still uncertain. property owners should prepare for the possibility of Tropical Storm Force winds up to Hurricane Force winds as soon as this weekend, with further impact effects leading towards Labor Day.
In preparation for the coming storm, Pines Property Management is working diligently to enact your community’s specific hurricane plan, for the protection of your common areas and amenities.
These preparations include, but are not limited to:
• Removal and securing of community gates, entry call boxes and gate operators.
• Shocking community pools – Community swimming pools will be closed until further notice. Residents and their guests are advised to not use these pools as they will be heavily shocked.
• Removal and storage of pool furniture (as instructed by your community’s hurricane plan).
• Removal of any community park or common area shades
• Shuttering guardhouses, clubhouses, etc.
• Shutting down common area irrigation systems.
We urge all residents to do the same for the protection of your personal property. Begin installing hurricane shutters, closing accordion shutters, or taking necessary action to protect your property’s windows and doors once a hurricane warning has been issued for your area. Have a plan in place to remove all loose items such as outdoor furniture, decorations, or anything that may become a projectile in heavy winds. If you are currently having a roof replacement or in the middle of any exterior repair/remodeling project, your contractor should be contacted to remove any loose construction materials.
Make sure you have a plan in the event you need to evacuate. A list of emerge/ncy items along with a pre/post storm prep list can be found at:
