Partners in Purpose: Ronald McDonald House & MHV

MHV knows that families facing tough times need to be together. Since 2011, the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley has provided a “home away from home” for families facing pediatric medical crises and receiving care in Westchester County. Because these families never receive a bill, the House depends on community donations to fund 80% of their annual operating budget and volunteers to help keep its programs running.

Do you know what a "Money Mule" is?

Scammers are getting creative with their recruitment, often disguising their schemes as legitimate job offers for "local representatives." They’ll ask you to receive money into your personal account and then transfer it elsewhere. All for a small "commission."

This is a classic "Money Mule" scam. By moving this money, you're helping bad actors hide stolen funds and adding layers to their trail.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Scammers often try to trick you into downloading "remote access" apps like TeamViewer or AnyDesk. Once they have access to your phone or computer, they can see your personal info and even move money out of your bank accounts without you knowing.

Don't fall for the Bitcoin trap!

Remember these golden rules: No bank, government agency, or utility company will EVER ask you to pay or "safeguard" your money via Bitcoin. If someone asks you to buy Bitcoin and send it to them—it's a scam. When in doubt, hang up!
