Mrs. Nancy Frederick Sweet Memorial Scholarship

Brayden Kief was announced as the winner of the 2026 Mrs. Nancy Frederick Sweet Memorial Scholarship at the annual Senior Awards Night at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School.

The scholarship is for $4,000, payable $1,000 per year. The scholarship was established by The Frederick Community Bank to honor the memory of Mrs. Nancy Frederick Sweet for her lifelong interest in performing arts, the community and The Frederick Community Bank.

Mrs. Sweet grew up in Paxton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Arthur Frederick. She was a member of the board of directors of Agricultural Banking Corp., the owner of First National Bank in Paxton and of Cissna Park State Bank, now both known as The Frederick Community Bank.

In addition to receiving the scholarship, Kiefs name will be engraved on a plaque at The Frederick Community Bank.

Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Frederick Memorial Scholarship

Kayden Vance was announced as the winner of the 2026 Mr. and Mrs. David Arthur Frederick Memorial Scholarship at the annual Senior Awards Night at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School.

The scholarship is for $8,000, payable $2,000 per year. The scholarship was established by The Frederick Community Bank to honor the memory of Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Frederick.

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick were involved in banking in both Paxton and Cissna Park. In addition, Mrs. Frederick was a school teacher at the Rankin and Paxton high schools.

In addition to receiving the scholarship, Vances name will be engraved on a plaque at The Frederick Community Bank along with the names of the prior scholarship winners.
