Sales Representative
Job Purpose
To work as an employee of a State Farm Independent contractor agent assisting in selling and marketing State Farm products and providing quality service to State Farm customers.
Experience and Knowledge
• Experience in sales, marketing, or customer service desirable
• Experience with computer software desirable
• Personal lines insurance license desirable
• Spanish speaking preferred
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to learn and apply products, industry and market knowledge to make professional recommendations to prospects and policyholders
• Ability to create professional business relationships with prospects and policyholders
• Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and act effectively in various circumstances without direction
• Self-confidence/perseverance/strong work ethics: remain positive and maintain progress towards a goal despite obstacles and adversity
• Goal oriented: highly motivated and resourceful to achieve results
• Proven track record of trustworthiness, dependability, and ethical behavior
• Proven problem-solving ability: apply and balance conceptual and analytical thinking by breaking down complex problems, evaluating alternative sources of action and their likely outcomes, and selecting the best alternative
• Ability to organize and act on several activities concurrently
Job Related Training Courses, Licensing and Programs
Successfully complete all company, state, and federal requirements (licenses) to sell and service designated State Farm products and continue to be licensed in good standing is required
Duties and Responsibilities
• Implement marketing & sales strategies
• Contact prospects and current policyholders to generate interest in sales and appointments
• Conduct needs-based sales appointments
• Meet sales goals
• Provide prompt, accurate, friendly, and cost-effective service to all current and prospective clients
