Today we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth National Independence Day—marking the end of slavery in the United States and honoring the freedom, resilience, and strength of Black Americans.

Let’s take time to reflect, learn, and stand together for equality, justice, and community.

Juneteenth Jubilee - Friday, June 19th from 2-6pm at Langston Hughes Community Center in Baltimore
Juneteenth Community Day: Honoring Opal Lee and Celebrating 100 Years - Friday, June 19th, at the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, DC
Juneteenth Music Festival in Baltimore - Starting Friday the 19th through Sunday the 21st in Druid Hill Park
Annapolis Juneteenth Parade- Saturday, June 20th beginning at Noon which starts at St. John's College
Annapolis Juneteenth Festival - Saturday, June 20th at Bates Sports Complex 2pm - 9pm (with fireworks starting shortly after)

Thank you so much to all the new friends we made in Philly, who stopped by to make a custom hat or a clear stadium bag! We met the nicest people who were fans of superheroes, animation, and fantasy characters. It was amazing to see so much creativity in costumes and props.

Thank you so much to the Johns Hopkins Trauma team for hosting a free "Stop the Bleed" training class at Max's Taphouse in Fells Point, Baltimore.
Kasey and I learned a lot, including how and when to use a tourniquet. We were also given kits to keep at home or the office with life-saving equipment in the event of an emergency.

In observation of Memorial Day, our office will be closed on Monday, May 25th.

Recently our friends at Caring Cupboard in Pasadena shared that they had a need for assorted non-perishable food items including cereal, condiments, and Spam. My team put together a food drive and last week we were able to collect two boxes of donations. Thank you, Ki, for delivering those items!
If you'd like to help with future donations, please feel free to drop those off at our office during normal business hours, and we'll happily deliver them so that we can make sure our friends and neighbors are fed.
