I have this date marked on my calendar.

Seven years ago today, my bags were packed. I was supposed to go to Palm Springs with my son, his classmates, and their moms… a moment I’ll never get back.

Then my phone rang.
It was Mike.
“Can you meet today?”

I had been chasing that opportunity for over a year. In that moment, I had a choice… stay comfortable, or take a chance on something bigger.

Today meant more to me than I can even put into words.

I had the opportunity to insure someone well recognized in the sports world… and my boys knew exactly who she was.

But what stayed with me wasn’t that, it was hearing them say they were proud of me.

I started this journey for them. Everything I do is for my kids, and any parent reading this understands that feeling.

That moment… I can’t even describe it.
