Does your auto insurance policy cover you in the event you, a family member or listed driver passes away or has a disabling injury due to a vehicle accident?

This does not come included with most policies so, you must inquire about it.

Just a summary of the article for Texas Coastal Counties -

1. Texas Windstorm Association will not raise new business premium rates by 10% in 2025.

2. If you’re a policy holder, you most likely will still see your annual premium increase.

3. This company, before Hurricane Beryl hit the Texas coast had about $451 million in reserves set aside to pay claims. As of early October, from this $451 million reserved funds, approximately $259 million has been used to payout claims.

4. This company is running out of cash reserves & is 1 or 2 catastrophic events away from going in the red so, we can expect a compromise of sorts so new business premiums can be raised.

Texas Insurance Commissioner Cassie Brown issued an order this week disapproving Texas Windstorm Insurance Association’s proposed 10% increase to property and commercial rates.
