Credit tip: It's not always smart to pay off a collection especially without proof that debt belongs to you along with a wet signature that you signed with this business. Under the FCRA the collection agency are supposed to provide this type of information to you within 30-45. If they failed to do so they will have to remove it from your credit report. If they succeed and check all these boxes then you can ask them to to send you a letter in writing to remove the collection once paid. Nobody has another 7 years to get their credit right. Grab this information and run with it. Gain back control of your life.

Each state has a statue of limitation on how long the collection agencies can have to settle a debt.

When a collection agency contact you it's best not to state your name or agree to anything. Anything they have to say it can be said through via mail.
Don't let these collection agencies harress you.
