Extending our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family of Cpl. Timothy O'Connor and the Pennsylvania State Police.

The Honey Brook Borough Police Department along with the Pennsylvania State Police are mourning the loss of CPL Timothy O’Connor. We work very closely with the State Police out of Embreeville barracks due to them covering Honey Brook Township full-time and here in the Borough part-time. The men and women of PSPE aren’t just fellow law enforcement but our some of our closest friends.

We are heartbroken and devastated to loose Tim last night. Not only was he someone newer officers looked up to, but someone who would go out of his way to help our department solve crimes pass along information between the two organizations, he was a friend.

If you are involved in a crash while driving this winter, follow this advice:

Move your vehicle as far as possible from the travel lanes if it's able to be driven. 🚗

Call 911 right away if your vehicle or another involved vehicle cannot be driven due to damage, or if one of the involved parties is injured. 📲

Remain inside the vehicle with your seat belt on and hazard lights activated if your vehicle is disabled in the lane of travel or stuck in the travel lanes due to snow or ice. ⚠️

If it's not safe to remain inside your vehicle, assess the situation and get yourself and passengers to a place of safety such as behind a barrier or guiderail. Do so as quickly as possible and DO NOT remain in the travel lanes or near your vehicle. 🚫

When encountering a crash scene, PA law requires you to move over if possible and always slow down. 🚨

On Friday, we said goodbye to one of our oldest and kindest customers. Sam always greeted us with a smile and a story, usually about his garden or his beloved classic cars. Our office had the honor of throwing a 100th birthday party for him, and we are so grateful for the time we spent celebrating such an incredible life. We were deeply touched that Sam’s family included us in the memorial posters and tribute slideshow. His warmth and spirit will truly be missed.
