Farmers and ranchers will soon be able to run cheaper red-dyed diesel in their trucks on the highway under a new executive order from President Trump.

It directs the IRS to waive penalties for using dyed diesel on highways through the end of the year; something that's normally restricted to off-road use.

It also calls for the federal diesel tax to be deferred for eligible users, with the Treasury now working out the details. The Administration says the federal tax is about $0.24 per gallon, and states are being encouraged to offer similar relief.
