Turns out, July 39 was worth $95! 😄

For our 95th Birthday Challenge, we asked you to spot the mistake in our 2025–2026 school activity calendar. We received 36 entries, and 19 people correctly found it: July 39. (And no, the answer wasn’t the school year!)

Welcome our new team member: Amber Lopez!

Amber joins us as a Personal Banker at our Panora location. She brings previous financial experience to the role and is a Guthrie County native. Amber grew up in Yale, where she now lives with her husband and children.

As a lifelong member of the community, Amber values Guthrie County State Bank’s community involvement. So far in her role, she’s enjoyed seeing familiar faces and getting to know new ones as she greets customers. She has also enjoyed the team bonding opportunities at GCSB.

Outside the bank, Amber enjoys reading, going to her kids’ activities and games, road trips, and likes to unwind on her patio after a long day. A fun fact about Amber is that she has recently taken up hand knitting and has made blankets for the whole family!

Happy Retirement, Kelly! 🎉

After more than three decades in banking, including 17 years with Guthrie County State Bank, Kelly Mleynek has officially retired!

Since joining GCSB in 2009, Kelly has brought incredible experience and dedication to her role. More importantly, she has built lasting relationships with customers and coworkers throughout her career, something she has always said is her favorite part of the job.

Kelly, thank you for the knowledge, kindness and commitment you have shared with our team and community over the years. We’ll miss seeing you, but we’re excited for you to have more time for family, traveling, biking, reading and cheering on your favorite basketball teams!
