The answer is yes! Canopie is a legitimate pregnancy and new-mom support program offered through Florida Blue. If you receive a text like this, you can use the personalized link sent directly to you to access the program.

Canopie provides eligible members with support that may include a breast pump, one-on-one help from maternal-health experts, virtual classes, coaching, and other pregnancy and postpartum resources at no additional cost.

I am sharing this because unexpected text messages can understandably make people cautious, but this is a real Florida Blue program. Of course, if you ever receive a message that looks different or you are unsure whether it is legitimate, verify it before clicking.

Florida Blue’s off-Marketplace enrollment for 2027 coverage began October 1!

Off-Marketplace plans are individual health plans purchased directly through Florida Blue rather than through the Marketplace. They do not include income-based subsidies or financial assistance.

If you need new individual health coverage for 2027 and do not qualify for income-based Marketplace assistance, please call or text me to discuss your options.

Turning 65 but still working and covered by an employer health plan?

You may not need to enroll in every part of Medicare right away.

Depending on your situation, you may be able to:

âś… Enroll in Medicare Part A only
âś… Delay Part B while you have qualifying employer group health coverage
✅ Delay Part D if your employer’s prescription coverage is considered creditable

This can help you avoid paying for coverage you do not currently need—without facing late-enrollment penalties later.

But don’t make the decision based on assumptions. Employer size, whether the coverage is based on current employment, prescription coverage, and HSA contributions can all affect what you should do.

Before turning 65, check with your employer’s benefits department and speak with a knowledgeable Medicare agent to understand your options.
