School’s out for the summer and we’re celebrating in the sweetest way possible! Tastefully Twisted ice cream truck will be open for business to kick off summer break at our Palmerton Main Office on June 5th from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The entire community is welcome! There will be plenty of cool, refreshing menu options including creamy soft serve, frozen cheesecake, root beer floats, and specialty sundaes. If you’re planning to stop by, please support our community and bring a few non-perishable food donations for the Palmerton Food Pantry. Thank you!

First Northern Bank and Trust couldn’t be prouder to be the Patriot Sponsor of the celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday hosted by the Palmerton America250 committee, a subcommittee of the Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce. This event will be held on June 14th, starting at 4:00 p.m. in Borough Park, right across from our Main Office in Palmerton.

During this time, residents will be showing their Palmerton Pride by decorating their homes and businesses in red, white, and blue. The United Veterans Organization will kick off the evening with a presentation of the colors before the opening ceremonies. Participants can expect fun engagement with our local police, fire, and emergency heroes. Other attractions will include a visit by The Carbon County Environmental Center’s bald eagle, the Living Hope Lighthouse Church’s Chalk the Walk, Christina’s Reptile & Animal Sanctuary, The Heritage Center of the Historical Society will offer the kids ‘make & take’ crafts, and so much more. The day winds down with musical entertainment by Joey & the T-Birds in the bandstand, followed by a fantastic fireworks display.

First Northern Bank and Trust is excited to be a Lunch Sponsor for the Slate Belt Chamber’s upcoming 26th Annual Scholarship Golf Classic. The event will be held on June 8th at the Whitetail Golf Club in Bath with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. All proceeds benefit the scholarship program.

The Slate Belt Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to promote and support local businesses and organizations in their small-town community including Portland, Bangor, Roseto, East Bangor, Upper and Lower Mount Bethel, Washington Township, Pen Argyl, Wind Gap, and Plainfield Township. They are dedicated to supporting the community through initiatives such as Annual Scholarship Awards, Santa’s Elves Program, and Business Person/Volunteer of the Year Awards.

As a trusted regional leader, First Northern Bank and Trust is proud to give back to the communities we have the privilege of serving by donating our first quarter Dress Down funds to Family Promise of Carbon County.

Family Promise of Carbon County is an organization dedicated to helping end homelessness on the streets of our beautiful neighborhoods. Their mission is to offer families experiencing homelessness in Carbon County temporary shelter, meals, and a safe place to sleep while empowering them to use support networks to become self-sustaining and secure permanent housing within 90 days.

Our team appreciates the opportunity to support the meaningful work they do for families in our local area.
