“Will Medicare pay for my dad’s assisted living?”
I received a call last week asking this very question. They were shocked to learn the answer: No, Medicare does not cover assisted living.

What normally follows that discovery are days of stress, scrambling to find affordable care, and hard conversations no one is prepared for.

After it is all said and done, the overwhelming thought is:
“I don’t want my kids to go through what I just did.”

If you're in your 40s, 50s, or early 60s, now is the time to make a plan—while you still have options.

I offer life insurance and annuities with living benefits that can help pay for long-term care, like assisted living, while you’re still alive. That way:
✅ Your kids won’t be burdened or blindsided
✅ You won’t be stuck in a sub-standard facility
✅ You stay in control of your care and your future

Planning ahead now means peace of mind later—for you and your family.

Let’s take that stress off their shoulders before it ever starts.

🚨 BEWARE 🚨

This is an ad that came across my Facebook... "FREE genetic testing" sounds great, but it's not free at all.

While they aren't looking to steal your money, they are out to misuse your information. Typically, they're goal is one of two things:

➡️ Sell your information - Do you REALLY need MORE calls trying to sell you a Medicare plan or tell you about "NEW" benefits?

➡️ Bill Medicare fraudulently - If it's truly "FREE" they don't need your Medicare information! The system is stretched as far as it can be. Let's stop the fraud where we can.

What can you do?

➡️ Keep scrolling - Ignore these ads. Don't ever give your information for "FREE" testing. If you're interested in having the testing done, call your doctor or insurance plan to inquire about necessity & costs.

➡️ If you receive a call, hang up! It's always your best defense.

➡️ If you think you may have completed a similar form, contact Medicare to report it. Also, add your number to the national Do Not Call registry. It won't stop all the calls, but you do have recourse when you get those calls in the future.

For reference, Medicare Advantage plans are approved each year for a one year period. Once those benefits are announced in October each year for the following year, there are no NEW benefits for those plans until the following year.

If you reviewed your plan with your trusted Medicare plan advisor at the end of last year, you can rest in knowing your plan is the best fit for your needs!

If you didn't review your plan or you don't have a trusted advisor, feel free to reach out to review your plan now.

These are great! Crying from laughing at some of these! 😂

How grandchildren perceive their grandparents

1. I was in the bathroom, putting on my makeup, under the watchful eyes of my young granddaughter, as I'd done many times before. After I applied my lipstick and started to leave, the little one said, "But Grandma, you forgot to kiss the toilet paper good-bye!" I will probably never put lipstick on again without thinking about kissing the toilet paper good-bye....

2. My young grandson called the other day to wish me Happy Birthday. He asked me how old I was, and I told him, 72. My grandson was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, "Did you start at 1?"

3. After putting her grandchildren to bed, a grandmother changed into old slacks and a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. As she heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patience grew thin. Finally, she threw a towel around her head and stormed into their room, putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As she left the room, she heard the three-year-old say with a trembling voice, "Who was THAT?"

4. A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own childhood was like. "We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods." The little girl was wide-eyed, taking this all in. At last she said, "I sure wish I'd gotten to know you sooner!"

5. My grandson was visiting one day when he asked, "Grandma, do you know how you and God are alike?" I mentally polished my halo and I said, "No, how are we alike?'' "You're both old," he replied.

6. A little girl was diligently pounding away on her grandfather's word processor. She told him she was writing a story.

"What's it about?" he asked.

"I don't know," she replied. "I can't read."

7. I didn't know if my granddaughter had learned her colors yet, so I decided to test her. I would point out something and ask what color it was. She would tell me and was always correct. It was fun for me, so I continued. At last, she headed for the door, saying, "Grandma, I really think you should try to figure out some of these colors yourself!"

8. When my grandson Billy and I entered our vacation cabin, we kept the lights off until we were inside to keep from attracting pesky insects. Still, a few fireflies followed us in. Noticing them before I did, Billy whispered, "It's no use Grandpa. Now the mosquitoes are coming after us with flashlights."

9. When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied, "I'm not sure." "Look in your underwear, Grandpa," he advised "Mine says I'm 4 to 6." (WOW! I really like this one -- it says I'm only '38'!)

10. A second grader came home from school and said to her grandmother, "Grandma, guess what? We learned how to make babies today." The grandmother, more than a little surprised, tried to keep her cool. "That's interesting." she said. "How do you make babies?" "It's simple," replied the girl. "You just change 'y' to 'i' and add 'es'."

11. Children's Logic: "Give me a sentence about a public servant," said a teacher. The small boy wrote: "The fireman came down the ladder pregnant." The teacher took the lad aside to correct him. "Don't you know what pregnant means?" she asked. "Sure," said the young boy confidently. 'It means carrying a child."

12. A grandfather was delivering his grandchildren to their home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the fire truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog's duties.

"They use him to keep crowds back," said one child.

"No," said another. "He's just for good luck."

A third child brought the argument to a close. “They use the dogs," she said firmly, "to find the fire hydrants."

13. A 6-year-old was asked where his grandma lived. "Oh," he said, "she lives at the airport, and whenever we want her, we just go get her. Then, when we're done having her visit, we take her back to the airport."

14. Grandpa is the smartest man on earth! He teaches me good things, but I don't get to see him enough to get as smart as him!

15. My Grandparents are funny, when they bend over, you hear gas leaks and they blame their dog.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT: PINELLAS COUNTY RESIDENTS ⚠️

Warning! This dangerous new scam has already cost one victim over $530,000!

Scammers are using fake McAfee security pop-ups to trick people into giving them remote access to their computers. Once they have access, they manipulate victims into:

Depositing money into Bitcoin ATMs
Purchasing gold bars
Withdrawing large amounts of cash that are then collected by couriers

PROTECT YOURSELF:

NEVER give personal or account information over the phone or computer
NEVER allow remote access to your computer from unexpected pop-ups
NEVER click on unsolicited pop-ups or links
ALWAYS utilize up-to-date security software

If you believe you gave someone remote access to your computer, turn off your computer, unplug it, and take it to a IT security professional.

If you have information about this scam or believe you've been victimized, please contact the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at (727) 582-6200.

🚨 BEWARE! 🚨

New scam alert! Protect yourself. Watch out for anyone trying to build an emotional connection with you through text, email or messenger. Also, be aware of anyone you don't personally know or haven't met in person asking for money.

If you believe you've been a victim of a scam, contact your local authorities. They can guide you from there.

Got a text from random number asking you how you are or if you want to meet up for dinner? Yeah, these are scams.

If you answer them "Who is this?" or "I think you have the wrong number." You've now confirmed to the scammer:

1. This is a working number
2. You might be susceptible to a scam

They generally respond stating something along the lines of "I'm sorry. I thought this was my friend Lisa." From there they'll try to build a connection with you and exploit your friendliness for days, weeks, or in some cases even months before they flip the switch and ask for money.

They'll often say things like "My mother is sick and needs help paying medical bills." or "If only I could afford a plane ticket to get to you, then we could be happy."

Other times these scammers don't ask for money directly but tell you about how successful they've been with recent cryptocurrency, forex trading, or other investments they made. If you show interest they will point you towards their "advisor" and try to get you to invest using a fraudulent platform.

Don't buy it.

If you get a random text message like this, just ignore it. Protect your friends and family by making sure they know about this scam.

📢 Exciting News! 📢

For years, my focus has been helping Medicare beneficiaries find the right coverage, and along the way, I’ve gained a deep understanding of how to navigate the system. But I’ve also realized that many of my clients need more than just Medicare guidance—they need help securing their financial future. That’s why I’m expanding my services to include annuities and life insurance!

To kick off this new journey, I’m looking for 5 volunteers (ages 55+) to join me for a 1-hour Zoom session where I’ll practice my presentation on annuities. This is a no-pressure, no-sales call—just a chance for me to refine my skills while you learn about how annuities can provide guaranteed income for life and protect your retirement savings.

If you’re interested in helping me out (and maybe learning something valuable in the process!), comment “I’m in!” or send me a message. I’d love to have you help me!

These are hilarious! It reminds me of a story I heard where someone thought "LOL" meant "Lots of Love" and added it at the end of text messages to family members informing them that someone had died. 😳😂
