This is GREAT news! If this bipartisan bill gets passed in the Senate and signed into law, millions of Social Security recipients will no longer be subject to the WEP or GPO, the Windfall Elimination Provision or Government Pension Offset rules. Effectively it means Social Security payments will NO LONGER be reduced if you have other income from a pension like teacher retirement, other city, state or federal pension programs. It will definitely boost your take home pay for those affected individuals!
