As you may know, VA loans don’t require a down payment. But did you know that putting a percentage of money down lowers the one-time, upfront funding fee? The fee is 2.15% for first-time use of the program with zero down payment. However, the funding fee has now decreased to 1.5% with 5% or more down payment and to 1.25% with more than 10% down payment.
