🌨️ Winter Weather Reminder for This Weekend (Jan. 24-25)

Forecasts are calling for very cold temperatures and the potential for snow and slick conditions this weekend, so now is a great time to take a few simple steps to help keep your family and neighbors safe.

✅ Please take these precautions:

🚗 Do not park in the street.🚗
This allows Public Works crews to clear streets efficiently without worrying about vehicles in the way.

🧂 Public Works will begin pre-treating roads on Friday.🧂
Please use caution when traveling, especially early mornings and at night when temperatures are at their lowest.

🏠 Stay home when possible.🏠
If roads become slick, limiting travel helps keep everyone safe and gives crews room to work.

💧 Drip your faucets.💧
Turn the water on to a slow drip to help prevent pipes from freezing.

🔥 Keep your heat on. Set thermostats to at least 55 degrees, even if you’re away.

🚪 Open cabinet doors under sinks (especially on outside walls) to let warm air circulate.

🚰 Know where your water shutoff is in case a pipe bursts.

🔋 Charge devices and have flashlights ready in case of outages.

🧤 Gather supplies now: salt or sand, blankets, batteries, bottled water, and easy meals.

🚗 Fuel up early and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle if you must travel.

⚠️ Use generators safely: never run one in a garage or near windows or doors.

🧊 Watch for black ice on bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas, even if roads look clear.

🤍 4 years ago today I stepped out in faith and accepted my own Shelter Insurance agency.

The growth since then has been nothing short of a God thing.

I’m thankful for every client, every conversation, every win, and every lesson.

Feeling incredibly grateful today and trusting Him with what’s next.

My name is Tessa and I'm excited to meet you. Following the retirement of Tom McMurtry I will be serving as your Lone Oak Shelter Insurance Agent. I'm looking forward to assisting you with your family's insurance needs.

I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2003. My husband Rob and I were college sweethearts and have been married for 19 years. We have two sons, Kamren (age 14) and Krew (age 9). These boys keep life exciting for us.

I'm Western Kentucky born and raised and have worked in the Paducah area for 16 years. I've been a licensed agent with Shelter for 5 years. During that time I was blessed to be part of an awesome team.
We earned a number of awards including Kentucky Agency of the Year as well as Conference of Champions attendees.

We will be opening a new office location on February 1st at 3210 Lone Oak Road. In the meantime, I will be working from the downtown Shelter agency. Calls to the Lone Oak Shelter office will ring to my cell phone until the new office opens.
