Dear Family and Friends:

This is a picture of Tim Mauldin. We received a very special prayer request last night from his wife, Suzanne.

As so many of you know, we had major roof, ceiling, and other damage to our new Vineyard Family House on West Strong Street from hurricane Sally. We have turned down 42 families since September 5, 2020.

Baptist hospital called. The Mauldins are from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Both contracted Covid. Suzanne had a mild case. Tim became so sick he was hospitalized. Suzanne, being positive for Covid could not even visit her husband. December 5, 2020, Tim was transferred to Baptist hospital here in Pensacola. He was placed on a ventilator and as of 9 days ago, ECMO, a heart-lung assist machine. He is VERY critical.

Per Suzanne, his condition has been up and down. This morning, he became very critical. Tim is just 50 years old. No prior health problems per Suzanne. They have two children, ages 16 & 20 who cannot visit their dad. Suzanne had to test negative to be allowed to just see her husband wearing PPE (protective personal equipment) through a glass window in the SINU once a day. She will tell you she is blessed to have the support of many friends and family members from their home town.

She has asked us to pray for Tim. Right now, she has a place to stay. The hospital has asked she be within 15 minutes because of how critical Tim is.

Dennis and I are just about to put Euclid on the market. He is sleeping there every night even though we have a security system. I am at Strong Street. Thanks to ALL my volunteers who have assisted us in the move. Packing, unpacking, sorting, organizing, etc., etc. We could not be here with out all of this support. These same volunteers have worked tirelessly to get Euclid ready to sell. We are just down to a few "touch ups" to finalize Euclid. Everything got backed up while Dennis and I got through Covid ourselves. These same volunteers dropped off food when I was too sick to even cook. We were so blessed by all of the prayers, cards, and phone calls. I know prayers got us through.

Keep Tim and his family in prayer. Our Lord hears all of our prayers.

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see".

Blessings, and may Christmas be experienced in all of your hearts!

Dear Family and Friends:

Prayer Updates on our two families we continue to lift up in prayer:

Chris Hubbard. Just 46 years young. Was transferred back to Consulate Rehab per his mom, Kathleen after a hospitalization at Baptist Hospital for pneumonia and a kidney infection. She was telling me he is back in physical therapy. Requires oxygen 24/7. Has gone from walking 340 steps to just 20 with assistance. Chris as you recall has stage 4 COPD and severe asthma. Originally from Missouri, now a Florida resident for his insurance. Parents continue to keep in contact with him Hattiesburg, MO. Mom would love prayers for her son to have a better quality of life. Chris has been on our prayer chain since transferred here in October, 2019.

Shirley Oliver. Just 73 years young. January 5, 2020, Shirley had a heart attack and was transferred from Evergreen, AL to Sacred Heart per daughter, Tina. She required mechanical ventilation and sadly became ventilator dependent and required kidney dialysis. She was then transferred to Select Specialty rehabilitation hospital. Six and one-half months later, she has been weaned off the ventilator several times, has had her tracheotomy removed twice, only to have respiratory failure and had a replaced tracheotomy. Per Tina just a few days ago, mom has remained off the ventilator, requires very little oxygen per nasal cannula, but, her tracheotomy has not been removed for fear of a third bout of respiratory failure. She continues to require kidney dialysis. Therein lies the problem per Tina. Facilities near their home will take Ms. Shirley on dialysis. No facility will take her with her tracheotomy. Due to COVID-19, Select has a "no family" visitation still in effect. Only "Face time" with family and friends. Shirley wants to go home. What a dilemma. Please be in prayer for an outcome that will get this family back together.

A prayer of hope. This is what we all need. A prayer for patience. I know I need this! We have continued to work on our new Vineyard during this time. In the carriage house, we have all of the flooring in both down stairs and up stairs. The kitchenette cabinets and bathroom cabinets will be finished this week. Plumbing to follow with the sinks and toilets installed. Upstairs in our apartment, kitchen cabinets to be completed this coming Tuesday and counter tops to be installed on Wednesday afternoon. All of the appliances both upstairs and downstairs to follow. The electricians have been busy also. The air-conditioning guys have been working to install the needed units in the carriage house also. I am including pictures of the new parking area and sidewalk to the carriage house. LOTS going on. In the meantime, Dennis and I and my faithful volunteers are working on Euclid to get it ready to sell. Hoping to be ready in the next two weeks also. What fun!

The "photo of the week" is a picture my brother-in-law sent me recently. It was taken taken in Floyds K***s, Indiana after a storm. Sharon Click quickly took 4 pictures because she was SO amazed at the clouds.
No matter what is going on. No matter how many times we hear "During these challenging times", God has this! God has us in the palm of His Hands.
Proverbs 30:4 "God holds us in the palm of His hand.....".

I saw this in a post Quint Studer, a local Florida businessman and philanthropist posted. The author is Kathleen O'Meara. Please read it all the way through and note when it was written.

God has this! God has us!

And people stayed home
and read books and listened
and rested and exercised
and made art and played
and learned new ways of being
and stopped
and listened deeper

someone mediated
someone prayed
someone danced
someone met their shadow

and people began to think differently
and people began to think differently
and people healed
and in the absence of people who lived in
ignorant ways,
dangerous, meaningless and heartless,
even the earth began to heal

and when the danger ended
and people found each other
grieved for the dead people
and they mad new choices
and dreamed of new visions
and created new ways of life
and healed the earth completely
just as they were healed themselves

Kathleen O'Meara, (1839-1888)

Blessings to all of you, Love Always in His Name!

Dear Family and Friends:

It has been a little slower in the renovations at 110 West Strong Street. Our workers are trying to keep the "social distancing" correct.

In the Carriage House:

dry wall is done. A light gray was chosen for both upstairs and down stairs. Neutral colors.

both downstairs shower and/or bathtub are in. Have ready to put in bathroom sink/cabinets both upstairs and downstairs. Toilets also. All the shower safety bars, towel bars, faucets ready. Upstairs kitchen cabinets are on track to be delivered May 20. Flooring is ready to install both upstairs and down stairs. Waiting on one special order closet door. Two other closet doors and two sets of 2 ft. bi-fold doors ready to install. Wiring is in, as is plumbing, and gas to upstairs stove.

Main House: Downstairs: Linen closet was stripped out. All shelving taken out. Will be putting a "barn door" opening for linen closet facing the front stairs and a stacker washer and dryer on first floor. To match the sliding door, using an original door from the house. Upstairs: The hall is now clear all the way to the end as it was in 1905. There will be a linen closet at end of hall across from end bedroom at back of house. The sitting room off the old master bedroom will become a bedroom and attached bathroom. The wall has been opened up between the sitting room and green bedroom. For whatever reason, there had been a "fake" wall with a space between the sitting room and the green bedroom. Just the space to put the 5th bathroom upstairs.

The outside got some much needed updating also. The old azalea shrubs were dug out. Sod will go there. The pampas grasses were dug out. Will be putting in some lilies. And, the cracked sidewalk beside the shrubs was dug up. Sodding will go there too. We have weeded all the beds. Will be transferring the Flag pole from 111 Euclid to 110 West Strong Street. We have flown an U.S. Flag and U.S. Navy flag since our son Marc joined ROTC now 22 years ago. Now we have to figure out how to fly an Air Force flag too. The granddaughter is in Air Force boot camp as we speak!

I am limited to how many pictures I can download via email. Check us out on Facebook!

Blessings to all of you, Love Always in His Name!

Dear Family and Friends:

I will be following this update with another of pictures of the 110 West Strong Street property updates and renovations going on. But first:

Kim Sokolow is doing well at Park Place Rehabilitation center. Per her sister, she was able to take 70 steps on her own this week! Wow! Surviving H1N1 flu, ECMO (heart-lung assist), ventilator support for weeks, and is now hoping to go home in the next two weeks to Orlando, FL. Kim is just 52 years young. No family is allowed to visit, so face-timing is what she can do. On room air too! Yeah! She is a miracle! Kim has been here since February 20, 2020 when she had come up from Orlando to attend a jewelry class.

Shirley Oliver remains in the ICU-2 at Select Hospital. Per her daughter, Tina, mom had a bronchoscopy done to clear secretions from her lungs. Tina reports she is breathing on her own for the majority of the time. But she continues to battle mucous plugs and needs a ventilator and constant surveillance. Ms. Shirley has been on our prayer chain since January 29, 2020. She and her family are from New Brockton, AL. Not being able to spend Mother's Day with her children tomorrow is such a "bummer" per Tina, her sister, and husband Lamar. Please continue to pray for Ms. Shirley.

Chris Hubbard per his mom and dad, is looking for a long term facility here in Florida. Chris has been on our prayer chain since October 18. 2019. Chris, just 45 years old has stage 4 COPD and severe asthma. He requires 24 hour care, oxygen, and assistance with walking. His parents live in Hattiesburg, MS. Chris was brought here on a ventilator and initially was not given a positive outcome. He proved all of his doctors and nurses that he is here! Please pray that he is able to find just the right long term care facility for Chris.

We have twin nine year old neices, Madeline (Madi) and Alex. Alex is reserved. Likes to read. Madi, the total opposite. Always looking for adventure. Two weeks ago, per my sister who is grandmother to these two, asked Madi three times not to swing so high. "Slow down!" She didn't. They heard her scream as she lost her grip and fell out of the swing. Xrays told the story. She broke both arms. Two bones in her lower arm on the left, and one of the larger bones on the right. The picture is of her showing off both of her casts. Before you ask, "Yes, she needs help going to the bathroom!".

Patty, my sister who is grandmother to these two shared a moment this week when she had the girls. She asked Madi if she "learned anything from this experience?" Madi's response: "Yes, in 4 weeks when I get these casts off I can go back to my swing!"

If I may borrow our pastor Dave Snyder's "So What?"message he ends with every sermon to give us a final conclusion of his messages:

How many times we (And I am pointing three fingers back at me when one is pointing forward), ALL keep doing the same thing over and over again. God gives us the power of choice. Yet, we keep falling down--just like Madi, hurting ourselves more than anyone else, and keep doing it wrong again. Yet, Our Father in Heaven, picks us up, dusts us off, gives us a hug, and keeps loving us, no matter what we do.

Our choice: Stop and Listen. We might save ourselves a lot of pain.

Blessings to all of you, Love Always in His Name!
