Insurance PSA - Contractors

I spoke with a contractor today. His trailer and tools were stolen from his driveway, he assumed his homeowners policy would pay for them but because the tools were used for his business there was NO coverage!

Nobody likes paying for insurance, I understand but having to replace THOUSANDS of dollars of tools isn’t fun either! A correctly written business owners policy would have taken care of the issue quickly and gotten him back to work without the stress of having to find the money to buy all new tools!

PS: if you’re using your vehicle for your business it is NOT covered under most personal auto policies!
