Medicare covers a LOT—but it doesn’t cover everything! And understanding what you may be responsible for paying out of pocket can make a big difference when choosing your coverage.

Here are a few things Medicare generally does cover:
✔️ Hospital care
✔️ Doctor visits
✔️ Preventive care & screenings
✔️ Durable medical equipment
✔️ Certain prescription drugs

And some things Medicare generally doesn’t cover:
❌ Most routine dental, vision & hearing care
❌ Long-term custodial care
❌ Routine foot care
❌ Cosmetic procedures
❌ Most care received outside the U.S.

Medicare generally does not cover long-term custodial care. That can include extended care in a nursing home, assisted living, or help at home with everyday activities.

And long-term care isn’t just about nursing homes.

Retirement is exciting… but your health coverage shouldn’t be a guessing game.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is waiting until retirement is here to start thinking about Medicare.

When you leave employer coverage, you may have several important decisions to make:

If you’re planning to burn brush, leaves, trash, or have an outdoor fire, please check your county’s current burn-ban status first. Burn bans can change quickly, so don’t assume that because burning was allowed yesterday, it’s allowed today.

🚨 If a burn ban is in effect:
• Do not burn until the ban is lifted
• Help prevent fires from spreading
• Protect your home, property, and neighbors
• Share this information with friends and family

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear about Medicare is...

"When I turn 65, Medicare takes care of everything."

The truth is, Medicare is a great foundation, but it doesn't cover everything. That's why it's important to understand your options before making a decision.

Here are a few Medicare basics:

🔹 Part A – Helps cover hospital stays and inpatient care.

🔹 Part B – Helps cover doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and medical equipment.

🔹 Part D – Helps cover prescription medications.

🔹 Medicare Supplement (Medigap) or Medicare Advantage – These plans can help reduce out-of-pocket costs and provide additional coverage based on your individual needs.

The best plan isn't the same for everyone. It depends on your health, your prescriptions, your doctors, your travel plans, and your budget.

A little sunshine is great… but these temperatures can become dangerous before you realize it.

Here are a few simple reminders to help you and your loved ones stay safe:

💧 Drink water throughout the day—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🧢 Wear light-colored, lightweight clothing.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
❤️ Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

If you start feeling dizzy, weak, nauseated, or develop a headache, don’t ignore it. Move to a cooler place, hydrate, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

📞 Tired of the nonstop Medicare calls? You’re not alone.

If you’re on Medicare, you shouldn’t be getting call after call from strangers trying to change your plan.

Here’s what you need to know:

✅ Medicare rules prohibit unsolicited calls from agents trying to sell you a Medicare plan unless you’ve given permission to be contacted.

⚠️ If someone calls claiming they need your Medicare number, want to send you a new card, or say you’ll lose your benefits if you don’t switch plans, that’s a huge red flag.

As your local Medicare agent, I work differently.

✔️ I can call my existing clients to help with their current coverage, answer questions, and provide ongoing service.
✔️ If you’re new to Medicare and would like my help, simply give me permission to contact you—or reach out to me directly.

Don’t trust a random voice on the phone with your Medicare coverage.
