I used to believe mastering a new skill took years.

Then I learned a framework that completely shifted my perspective:

📍 20 hours can take you from zero to competent
📍 100 hours can put you ahead of most people
📍 10,000 hours is for elite-level mastery

The problem? Most people fixate on the last number.

We hear “10,000 hours” and think, there’s no way I have that kind of time, I’m too busy or have too much going on right now— so we never even try to start.

Check this out: about 78.7% of full-time workers have access to retirement plans, but on average, they’re only putting in 9.3% of their earnings. Yeah, that might look smart at first, but it’s really not enough for most folks who want to be financially free when they retire.

With people living longer and healthcare costs skyrocketing, plus all the uncertainty around Social Security, there’s not much room for error. A lot of financial pros suggest shooting for a savings rate of 12-15% if you want a comfy future.

The gap between what people think is “enough” saved and what they actually need for retirement keeps getting wider. Closing that gap starts with getting educated and spreading the word.
