On June 17, at a District Meeting held at the Chapel Hill Country Club, Jimmy Williams was presented with a plaque recognizing his milestone of 40 years of service to Nationwide Insurance. Making the presentation was Edward Swigunski, Sales Manager. Jimmy joined Nationwide on May 5, 1975. Through the years, he has seen many changes in the industry, with computer technology bringing the most change for both agents and their clients. He has operated his agency in two locations, first on Williamsboro Street, and then in 1994, he moved into his current location at 109 Gilliam Street. He says the most enjoyable part of the business is helping customers, and the hardest part is seeing long-term customers pass away. Whether it is losing recently a sweet dear lady who had reached the young age of 101, or a younger person unexpectedly losing his or her life in an accident, you and your staff feel the losses in a personal way. Those relationships develop when a person is fortunate enough to operate a business for forty years in his hometown community. He would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients for their support throughout the years. Jimmy and his staff look forward to continuing to serve their current and future clients. Here's hoping that the next 40 years do not pass as quickly as the past forty!
