4th of July is coming up shortly and with that comes fireworks. We get several questions about fireworks and we receive several calls about them around the 4th of July. State Statutes 624.20 and 624.21 regulate fireworks in Minnesota. Short story, if it goes up in the air like bottle rockets and roman candles or explodes like firecrackers, they are illegal to be used in Minnesota. Our local businesses only sell fireworks that are legal for use in Minnesota. Also as a reminder no fireworks can be used on public property such as in the parks or on the street and sidewalk. Please enjoy the 4th of July in a safe and responsible manner and please join us for the best community fireworks display in southern Minnesota on July 4th over Lake Sisseton in Fairmont starting around 10pm.
