COMMUNITY ALERT: NEIGHBORS IN NEED
Owasso Police are deploying to Enid to assist in Tornado relief efforts. EPD is requesting supplies for their residents that have lost everything. We request citizen donations of (new) toiletries, wipes, cases of water, small snacks, work gloves, shovels, buckets, etc. You can drop off any supply donations to the OPD transport van parked at Old Central, right behind the Owasso Police Department. Squads of officers will be sent and will take your donations directly to the residents of Enid in need. We'll accept until 7PM but the sooner the better.

📢🌪️ Outdoor Warning Sirens: What You Need to Know

The City of Owasso’s outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outside to take immediate action during severe weather or other hazards. These systems are not meant to be heard clearly indoors, especially if you are inside a well-insulated building.

Our sirens may sound, even when a storm is still several miles away. This is intentional, as it provides valuable time for you to seek shelter and prepare, if needed.

Additionally, when the US National Weather Service Tulsa Oklahoma issues a tornado warning, if the polygon touches any siren in Owasso, all of the sirens in the city will automatically sound.

Our sirens typically sound for about 3 minutes. However, just because the sirens stop does not mean the danger has passed. You should continue to shelter and monitor trusted information sources until the warning has officially expired.

When you hear a siren:
• Go indoors immediately
• Seek additional information from reliable sources like local news, weather apps, or official alerts
• Take appropriate protective action based on the situation

Sirens are just one part of a larger warning system. To stay fully informed, make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts, such as weather radios, mobile notifications, and local media.

🚨 DISASTER DECLARATION FOR OUR AREA 🚨

After the March 6 storms, Governor Stitt declared a Disaster Emergency for Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner, Creek, Okmulgee, Alfalfa, Grant, and Major counties.

A lot of people think that means everyone automatically gets disaster money.
That’s not what it means.

Right now, the state is counting the damage across our area. They’re asking anyone with storm damage to report it here:

damage.ok.gov

Those reports help Oklahoma request federal disaster assistance for our communities.

Even small damage helps paint the picture of how widespread the storm impact was.

If you know someone in our area who has damage, share this post so they know where to report it.

🚨SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER FRIDAY‼️The SPC has upgraded Friday to a rare Day 4 Level 3 Risk. Damaging winds, large hail, and TORNADOES (some potentially STRONG) are possible.

Severe storms could stretch from Texas to Minnesota, with the greatest threat across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Timing looks to be late afternoon into Friday night.
