Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company ("FLMIC") provides professional liability insurance to attorneys throughout Florida to manage legal malpractice risks and claims. FLMIC was created by The Florida Bar in the late 1980s, and is owned by its policyholders, who practice law in the State of Florida. Seventeen directors, who are all licensed Florida attorneys, serve on FLMIC's Board of Directors. FLMIC is operated by insurance professionals, who are licensed in the State of Florida. The Company's strong financial position is recognized and confirmed by A.M. Attorneys insured by FLMIC must meet and comply with responsible underwriting standards.
