We celebrated the holidays last week at Lidia's Kansas City with the Vortex Weather Insurance crew. Our thanks to the staff and chefs for a fantastic meal and fun evening. As usual, the gifts were fun and apropos, and the game was memorable! Congrats to our meteorology team for the win! Merry Christmas!

Enjoyed a fun day celebrating Halloween in the office today. Indiana Jones and the jockey won the costume prizes! We had a three-way tie guessing baby faces and laughed a lot. Looking forward to next year!

Our team had a great time in Miami attending the annual Weather Risk Management Association (WRMA) meeting. We enjoyed seeing memorable art on the Wynwood Art Walk. Sometimes, the world just needs a RESET button!

We enjoyed the opportunity to catch the solar eclipse on April 8. It was near 90% totality here in our neck of the woods - totally worth watching! Our next chance to see an annual solar eclipse in KC will be April 12, 2154. The next total solar eclipse for Kansas is August 12, 2045, but it'll be several hours west of KC - it would take more time than just a lunch break!

Congratulations to our 2023 Fantasy Football League winner, Kevin Colgan! He charged back from an 8-6 record to win the playoffs and our Championship Belt. This is the first year for MSI to hold a league, and included some friends in Germany. We are looking forward to next year - some have already begun training! 😉

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (MSIG) Vietnam and Australian insurtech startup Hillridge on Tuesday inked a partnership that sees the latter enter Vietnam's agricultural insurance sector with a new product that will protect farmers from the risks of drought.

Thanks to Hannover Re for loaning Kevin Brendler to us for the last two weeks! We've enjoyed introducing him to some of Kansas City's best dining and activities. He picked a great time to be here, with the NFL Draft activities going on! We did do some work, too (wink wink).
