KIA and HYUNDAI owners in KCMO!

Starting today, we have free steering wheel locks for Kia and Hyundai owners.

This is in response to the theft of thousands of these vehicles across the U.S., including Kansas City, sparked by a social media challenge. While these manufacturers roll out software updates to prevent this crime, we asked Kia & Hyundai to provide us with the locks.

You can get them at any of our six patrol stations or from our Community Engagement Division at Police Headquarters (1125 Locust St.) between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday – Friday. You must be a Kansas City, Mo. resident with a valid ID and provide proof of ownership.
