One thing I’ve learned over the years: building good relationships can lead to some pretty amazing opportunities....like attending a World Cup game!
I had the opportunity to attend the Algeria vs. Austria match as a guest of Sporting Kansas City through Thrivent’s partnership with the club.
The stadium was sold out and the atmosphere was incredible. Easily one of the most fun soccer matches I’ve ever been to.
What I enjoyed most, though, was getting to spend the evening with people from a variety of different companies and industries. There were 16 of us in the suite and it was a good reminder that some of the best professional relationships are built in environments like that—not sitting across a conference table.
People are more real when they’re relaxed, having fun, and sharing an experience together.
Also, international soccer (football) fans bring a level of energy that’s hard to describe.
I’m really grateful for the opportunity and the hospitality from my friends at Sporting KC!
