Dear River Community Credit Union Members,
First, we want to sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding during our recent system outage. We know the past several days have been frustrating and, at times, confusing, and we truly appreciate the kindness and patience you have shown our employees.
Our system is now back online, but we are still working through the effects of the outage and making sure member accounts are accurate.
During the outage, transactions occurring between approximately 7:00 p.m. on September 13 and 11:00 a.m. on September 15 have required additional processing. We have manually posted many of these transactions, and we continue to work through the remaining items.
Because some transactions were posted manually after the fact, your account balance may have looked different on Friday than you expected. This was especially true for members who received deposits or other transactions during the outage. As we continue to reconcile everything, you may see additional activity appear in your account.
What We Need From You
Please continue to review your account and contact us if you believe a transaction is missing or something does not look correct. We are working hard to make sure everything is posted accurately, and your help in identifying anything we may have missed is extremely valuable to us.
If you are unsure about a transaction, please ask us. We would much rather have you contact us so we can look into it with you.
Debit Card Transactions
Debit card transactions from the affected period have been posted with the standard description “POS.” If you see a POS transaction and would like to know the specific location or merchant where the transaction occurred, please contact us and we will be happy to provide that information.
Overdrawn Accounts
We also recognize that some members may temporarily have an overdrawn account as a result of the outage and the timing of transactions being posted.
If this has happened to you because of the outage, we will not pursue negative action against you as a result. We do ask that you bring your account back to a positive balance as soon as you are able to do so.
We are also waiving overdraft fees for the time being as we continue to work through the effects of the outage.
We understand that this has created extra work and inconvenience for our members. Please know that we are continuing to work through these issues and will do everything we can to make sure your account is accurate.
Once again, thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued trust in River Community Credit Union. We are very grateful for the way our members have supported our employees throughout this difficult situation.
We appreciate you, and we will continue working until we get everything cleaned up.
Sincerely,
Nate Bissell
CEO
