The National Undergraduate Organ Competition The National Undergraduate Organ Competition, sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Ottumwa, Iowa, seeks to encourage future church musicians.

2026 TCAGO Competition Results

On Saturday, April 18th, the Twin Cities AGO Competition in Organ Performance was held at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church. Three young organists performed:
• Lydia Maier, student of Dr. Gregory Hand at University of Iowa
• David Devine, student of Dr. Gregory Hand at University of Iowa
• Henry Dangerfield, high school student of Dr. Catherine Rodland

The Judges were:

Dr. Dean Billmeyer
Professor of Organ and Harpsichord Emeritus, University of Minnesota
Organist in Residence, St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, St. Paul, Minnesota

Dr. Sr. Stacie Lightner
Cantor, St. Paul Reformation Lutheran Church

Dr. Melanie Ohnstad (serving as alternate judge for Diane Meredith Belcher)
Minister of Music and Arts Emerita, Westminster Presbyterian Church

The First Prize of $2,500, sponsored by the Schubert Club, was awarded to Henry Dangerfield. The Second Prize of $1,500, sponsored by TCAGO member Phil Asgian, was awarded to David Devine. Congratulations to all the performers, and thank you to all who helped make this another successful TCAGO competition.

The results are in! Congratulations to the three exceptional finalists who competed at the 2026 Arthur Poister Organ Competition at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Syracuse tonight. First prize went to Matthew Luca, DMA student of Nathan Laube at the Eastman School of Music; second prize went to Yuhe Su, DMA student of David Higgs at the Eastman School of Music; and third prize and the Will O. Headlee Audience Prize went to Henry Dangerfield, high school student of Catherine Rodland. Thank you to our distinguished judges: Christopher Houlihan, Damin Spritzer, and Todd Wilson. It was a great night of impressive playing!
