It’s that time of year!

Earthmover Credit Union is launching the teen scholarship program again. Graduating high school seniors can apply for a scholarship from us. We are now accepting applications from Monday, Feb. 23 until Thursday, April 30.

An exciting update is that we will be giving away $10,000 in scholarships this year, instead of the $4,000 in previous years. Five winners will receive $2,000 each!

Meet the 2026 Spring PCU Group!

Matt: Planning to study Emergency Medical Services at Waubonsee Community College. Loves music, skiing, and cooking.

Thomas: Planning to study accounting at Northern Illinois University. Loves music, fashion, and new experiences.

Ella: Planning to study Human Services at Waubonsee Community College. Loves music, car rides, and sunsets.

Sydney: Planning to to double major in Accounting and Finance at Ohio State. Loves reading, music, and traveling.

Devin: Attending Illinois State to earn masters degree in accounting. Loves sports, the outdoors, and working out.

Gabby: I plan on going to a 4 year university for Accounting. Likes hanging out with friends, shopping, and traveling.

This month PCU will be focusing on youth savings.

Here are 6 ways you can improve your financial situation.

Create a Budget: Track your income and expenses to understand where your money is going. A simple budget helps you save for important things and avoid overspending.

Start Saving Early: Open a savings account and regularly deposit a portion of any earnings or allowances. The earlier you start saving, the more you’ll benefit from compound interest over time.

Get a Part-Time Job or Side Hustle: Earning money through part-time work or a side gig like babysitting, tutoring, or freelance tasks can help you save and gain work experience.

Learn About Financial Literacy: Educate yourself about personal finance, including topics like credit, interest rates, and investing. Understanding how money works will help you make informed decisions in the future.

Set Financial Goals: Whether it’s saving for a car, college, or a fun trip, setting clear financial goals helps you stay motivated and focused on your financial future.

We are excited to kick off our Teen Investment Program (T.I.P). College Scholarship! Earthmover Credit Union is giving away a total of $4,000 in college scholarships to graduating high school seniors. We are now accepting entries to apply to earn the scholarships!
