We were out running errands the other day when Bruce got hungry, so we stopped for one of his favorite sandwiches. Just a quick, simple moment.

And it made me think—how easy it is for most of us to grab food when we need it. No second thought.

But for some kids, even that isn’t guaranteed.

Some students—right here in our own schools—are navigating food insecurity. Some are homeless. Some are doing it on their own. And still, they show up to school every day.

A few years ago, I got involved with Cape Kid Meals, and I’ve watched the organization grow so much since then. It’s amazing how many more kids they’re reaching—but also heartbreaking that so many more kids are in need.

Cape Kid Meals provides easy-to-make meals for students in our local community, especially those who don’t have help at home.

We’re running a food drive now through May 2nd, and I’d love your support.

Most Needed Items:
• Mac & Cheese Cups
• Microwavable Rice Cups
• Kind/Healthy Protein Bars
• Chomps Meat Sticks

No donation is too small.
And every share helps spread the word.

Let’s come together and make sure these kids are supported and fed. Details are in my Story!

I’ve been in the mortgage industry for nearly a decade, and from day one, I knew it was the right fit. Mortgages gave me the freedom I didn’t have in corporate America—the ability to build a career that worked for my life as a new mom while helping people achieve their dream of homeownership. It felt perfect, and for years, it truly was.

But the last couple of years brought challenges, growth, and hard truths. In 2022, I took a leap and started my own brokerage, even though I wasn’t fully ready. I’m proud of what I built, but as time passed, I realized being a broker-owner wasn’t bringing me joy or fulfillment. The constant demands of running a business left me drained and disconnected from the parts of the job I loved most: working with clients and creating opportunities for homeownership.

It took a lot of reflection (and some hard conversations) to admit I needed a change. I was scared to feel like I’d “failed” by closing my brokerage, but I’ve learned that letting go of something that no longer serves you isn’t failure—it’s courage. Life is about growing, learning, and pivoting when necessary.

After many conversations with my incredible support system, I decided to join CMG Home Loans. To my family, friends, mentors, peers, and —you’ve listened to my doubts, cheered for my wins, and reminded me of my worth when I couldn’t see it myself. Thank you for being my rock.

This change isn’t just for me—it’s for my clients, referral partners, and community. With CMG’s support and resources, I can focus on what I truly love: building relationships, finding solutions, and helping more people achieve homeownership. It also gives me the space to be more intentional with my time.

As a mom of two amazing kids, I want to show up fully for them. This decision allows me to be present, lead with purpose, and model what it means to make choices that align with your values.

To anyone feeling stuck: It’s okay to pivot. Closing a chapter that no longer serves you isn’t failure—it’s growth. Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is listen to your heart.

Here’s to new beginnings, endless possibilities, and an incredible 2025. ✨💫

Stepping onto the tennis court this week after months away wasn’t just about rekindling an old love for the game; it was a vivid reminder of how crucial it is for us, especially as entrepreneurs, to take meaningful breaks. In the relentless hustle of building and running a business, it’s easy to overlook the silent creep of burnout. Yet, it’s in these moments of pause—of engaging in activities that rejuvenate our spirit—that we find our true resilience and creativity.
For me, tennis is more than a sport; it’s a metaphor for entrepreneurship. You can’t succeed in tennis without stepping onto the court, and similarly, you can’t make an impact in business without diving into the arena. However, just as tennis requires a partner, entrepreneurship thrives on connections—be it with real estate partners or industry peers.
Taking time for what we love creates a space not just for relaxation but for reflection and new connections. It’s a reminder that our work is not our only legacy; the relationships we build and the lives we touch hold equal value. Let’s make it a point to step away from our desks, to indulge in our passions, and to open ourselves to the serendipity of new friendships and opportunities. After all, in the grand game of life and business, it’s the moments we take for ourselves that often lead to our greatest achievements and most meaningful connections.

There’s something indescribably peaceful about searching for seaglass. It requires you to pause, breathe, and let the world slow down around you. I’ve always been on the go, never stopping long enough to appreciate the simple joys of life. It took me a long time to realize how important it is to take the time for the things we love, away from the hustle. Embracing “Be here now,” the timeless wisdom from the great Ram Dass, has been a revelation for me. This phrase has become my personal creed, guiding me to live more consciously and with greater presence. Whether I’m searching for seaglass or engaged in daily activities, this mantra reminds me to savor every moment, fully engage with my surroundings, and truly be present in the unfolding story of my life.

Eight years ago, I traded corporate America for an industry I didn’t know much about. At the time, I had a 14-month-old and was pregnant with my daughter. My priorities had shifted; I no longer valued the predictable routine and perceived safety of my previous job. Instead, I sought a career that offered flexibility, growth, and the chance to be there for my growing family. It led me to become a Mortgage Loan Originator.

This decision, daunting as it was, turned out to be the best one I’ve ever made. It wasn’t just a job change; it was a life change. The journey from learning a new industry to eventually opening my own brokerage has been filled with challenges and triumphs. Despite the fluctuating market and industry uncertainties, I’ve found a profound sense of fulfillment and success.

Today, I enjoy not just financial independence, but also the freedom to manage my time. I can be there for my children’s milestones, nurse them when they’re sick, and participate in their daily joys and discoveries. These moments are irreplaceable and something I would have missed out on had I not taken this leap.

I share my story not just to celebrate my personal achievements but to encourage anyone who might be on the fence about taking a similar leap. Sometimes, the best opportunities in life come from the most unexpected places and decisions.

The last time (and only time) I was in New York City was 16 years ago for my 21st birthday. Back then I prioritized fun adventures and embraced spontaneity; but somewhere along the way I lost that part of me.

I don’t remember exactly where I lost my way, but I lost sight of what really matters in life.

In December I went to NYC twice in a ten day span. The first trip was to celebrate a very special birthday. After experiencing NYC at Christmas time - I knew I had to take the kids back. My first thought was to plan for next year - but then I thought about it and wondered why it had to be planned a year in advance - I could bring them for a night this year to show them the magic of the city before Christmas. I’m so glad I did. They’ll never remember the presents they receive each and every year - but they will remember our NYC trip forever and that’s what this is all about.

Forget perfection. I’m finding happiness in the here and now.

This picture symbolizes a vital truth in life: there are no shortcuts to real success and happiness. The past few years have been incredibly challenging for me, but I’ve emerged stronger on the other side. It’s a journey that required hard work, deep self-reflection, and learning to appreciate the present moment.

True happiness isn’t about reaching a destination; it’s found in the journey itself and in being fully present in each moment. It’s about understanding our emotions and the beliefs that shape our lives, and recognizing that fulfillment comes from within, not from external sources.

Facing life’s challenges head-on, I’ve learned the importance of resilience and inner strength. This journey wasn’t easy, but it was worth every step. Let’s embrace life’s ups and downs, find joy in the journey, and remember that the most rewarding paths often require the most work.
