Yesterday the Fed announced they were reducing the Fed Funds Rate by .50% and mortgage rates got a tad worse. For the most part, that was what the majority of industry experts expected.

This is further evidence that the mortgage market had already priced in the Fed cutting their rate and that the Fed Funds Rate does not dictate mortgage rates. Follow what the Fed states in the minutes they will be releasing. What the Fed says tends to move the markets more than what the Fed does…

Great news regarding FHA and we hope that VA will follow!

FHA published FHA Info # 2024-12 regarding a Frequently Asked Question on Seller-Paid Commission Related to the National Association of Realtors Settlement.

The FHA Info reviews existing policy for how the proposed settlement agreement will affect the treatment of seller-paid buyer real estate broker fees for FHA financing.

“Under existing policy, if sellers continue to pay buyer-side real estate agent commissions and fees as a manner of state or local law or custom, and if the commissions and fees are reasonable in amount, existing policy would not treat those payments as interested party contributions provided all other requirements are met.” 😎
