This past Thursday, Ratcliff & Blake hosted Thursdays In Pella where they celebrated Christmas in July! Our Pella agents Parker & Justin put on a fun scavenger hunt where the kids had to go find hidden elves to receive a cookie. We are so thankful that the community provides opportunities for families to come together and have fun during the summer. Thank you again to everyone who came out!

🚨 **Unpermitted Peddler Notice** 🚨

The Oskaloosa Police Department has received reports of individuals representing **Fox Pest Control** and **R3 Roofing** going door-to-door within the city.

Reports indicate individuals are soliciting pest control services and/or offering to assist residents with hail damage claims for roof damage.

At this time, **Fox Pest Control and R3 Roofing have not been issued valid City of Oskaloosa peddler’s permits** and are **not approved to conduct door-to-door sales or solicitation within the city**.

The City’s peddler permit process is in place to help protect residents. Because no permit has been issued, the City has **not been able to verify the required local review process**, which may include items such as applicable sales tax compliance and background check review.

Residents are reminded that you are **never required to speak with a door-to-door peddler**, whether or not they claim to have a permit. You are also not required to listen to a sales pitch, answer questions, sign documents, provide personal information, or allow anyone onto your property.

Residents may ask any door-to-door salesperson to show their City-issued peddler’s permit. If they cannot provide one, ignore a posted **No Soliciting** sign, refuse to leave, continue pressuring you after being told no, or return after being asked not to, please contact the Oskaloosa Police Department’s non-emergency number at **(641) 672-2557**.

If you feel threatened or need an officer immediately, call **911**.

Please help us by reporting unpermitted door-to-door sales activity so officers can identify and address it appropriately.

Congratulations to the Mahaska County YMCA! Thank you IMT Insurance for supporting & giving back to the local communities.

We’re grateful to be one of the recipients of the IMT Insurance Community Contest Grant!

Thanks to this generous support, the Mahaska County YMCA will invest in lifeguard training, CPR/AED and First Aid equipment, safety supplies, and expanded safety education opportunities for both our staff and community members.

As we prepare for the opening of our new pool facility this August, these funds will help ensure we continue providing a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
