📖 This morning while scrolling Facebook, I saw this article that instantly sent me to the gas station for the full newspaper.
The post online makes it sound like something was denied… but really, the discussion was simply pushed to the next meeting.
But it sparked a thought I share with clients every day:
💡 Employer‑provided life insurance is great… but it should never be your only plan.
✔️ Take all the free coverage you can get.
❌ But please don’t depend on it. You don't own this policy.
When you rely solely on your employer or credit union for life insurance, you’re putting your family’s entire financial future in the hands of a board or HR department you can’t control.
We’re talking about:
🏠 Family stability & security
🎓 College funds
🚗 Your child’s first car or first home
✈️ Family vacations & memories
👩❤️👨 Your spouse’s ability to stay home
💭 Your long‑term dreams
🧓 Your retirement
As the leader of your household… is that a risk you want someone else deciding for you?
🧐 A few things to think about:
Are you staying at your current job forever?
Or are you one of the 59% of professionals actively seeking new opportunities?
Will your next employer offer life insurance?
And what if you develop a health condition before then?
I recently had a 34‑year‑old woman application for life insurance denied coverage due to a medical diagnoses which stemmed from an everyday sickness, it just hit her differently. It happens more often than people realize.
In the month of January 2026, my company paid over 50 death claims — from age 23 to 94 — and everything in between.
⏳ Life is unpredictable.
🛡️ Your family’s protection shouldn’t be.
🌟 Today is the day to OWN your own life insurance policy.
If you’re ready to put a real plan in place, I’m here to help. 💬
