This past weekend, our UCU team was proud to volunteer at the Special Olympics Maine Summer Games! 🏆

Our volunteers spent the weekend helping at the souvenir tent, assisting athletes, families, coaches, and supporters as they celebrated an incredible event filled with competition, determination, and community spirit.

With more than 1,300 athletes competing, the Summer Games showcased the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship of participants from across the state. We are honored to support an organization that creates opportunities for athletes to shine and brings people together through inclusion and teamwork. 💙

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Summer Games such a memorable success! 💪

In recognition of Carolyn Cheney’s over 50 years of dedicated service to UCU, a bench was dedicated on her behalf at the Central Aroostook Humane Society (Official Page) during a ceremony honoring her commitment to both organizations on May 22!

The event was attended by Carolyn, her family and friends, UCU team members and others she has impacted throughout the Presque Isle community. “Carolyn’s Bench” honors her lasting impact and years of service to both UCU and Central Aroostook Humane Society, two organizations that are especially meaningful to her.

The bench plaque reads, “In recognition of Carolyn Cheney’s volunteerism to University Credit Union for over 50 years, including 18 years as a Board Director. Carolyn’s Bench is placed outside the Central Aroostook Humane Society to bring together her two passions. Thank you, Carolyn, for making such an impact on both organizations in your community."

A huge thank you to the Central Aroostook Humane Society for hosting the event and honoring Carolyn in such a special way! We were proud to be part of this meaningful celebration and to recognize all that she has contributed to UCU, the Humane Society, and to our community. ❤️🐾

Yesterday, our UCU team spent the day volunteering with Special Olympics Maine at Hampden Academy, helping support the softball toss and motorized events! ☀️💙

It was a beautiful, warm day filled with smiles, teamwork, and inspiring athletes giving it their all. The energy throughout the event was truly inspiring, and it was wonderful to see so many athletes confidently competing, encouraging one another, and celebrating their accomplishments together. 👟

Thank you to everyone who helped organize such a fantastic day- we are grateful to have been part of it!

This past weekend, UCU was proud to participate in the Bangor Chapter of Credit Unions CU4Kids Colors 4 a Cause 5K! 🌈❤️

With beautiful weather, lots of smiles, and plenty of color, it was the perfect day to come together in support of Children's Miracle Network of Maine and the incredible care they provide to local children and families. Every dollar raised stays local to help provide critical care, life-saving equipment, and support for Maine children and families.

We were honored to be part of a day filled with color, community, and giving back. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success! 👟✨

Please join us in congratulating Kenzie Chipman, Electronic Service Representative, for receiving the UCU Greatest of All Time (GOAT) award for Q1! 🥳🏆

The GOAT award is to recognize an employee who has gone above and beyond to help members or their fellow UCU teammates. Recipients of this award are nominated by their peers and given out every quarter.

Kenzie has been with UCU for less than a year and is already an integral member of the call center team and UCU. A contagious giggle can be heard when she is on the phone and she has built a great rapport with so many of our members. Kenzie goes above and beyond to help train new team members and she is always willing to answer any questions she can, and if she doesn't know the answer herself, she helps guide people to the correct place to get the help they need.

Kenzie is a patient, thoughtful, and kind team member who makes a meaningful difference at UCU every single day. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our team, and we are proud to recognize her as a GOAT Award recipient. Thank you, Kenzie, for all that U do! Congratulations! 🎉

Please join us in wishing Hannah Jamison, Call Center Manager, a big congratulations for completing the Bangor Region Leadership Institute (BRLI) program! 🥳🎉

BRLI is a leadership development program in the greater Bangor area that is designed to give emerging leaders the skills, knowledge, and ongoing support they need to succeed in the greater Bangor community.

Hannah has been with UCU since 2015- she is a steady source of support for not only members, but also her team. She is known for always being willing to lend a helping hand, and leads with patience, empathy, and a wealth of knowledge that she uses to uplift those around her. In 2025 alone, the Call Center team completed over 41,000 member phone calls- an example of her dedication to leading her team to success while continuing to provide exceptional member service every day.

Additionally, Hannah is a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor, further showcasing her dedication to helping members navigate their financial journeys with confidence and care.
