Lots of questions coming in with all the rain last week concerning water clean up and mitigation. Now more rain again so we may not be fully finished seeing water in places we don't want it. In the insurance world, any outside water (melting snow, excess rain, rising creek and rivers) is considered flood water and is specifically excluded from your home owners policy. Flood policies are completely separate. If you did happen to get water in the basement or crawlspace, please take precautions to get it pumped out and dry as soon as possible. You may need to add some anti microbial agent to prevent mold. Mold can begin to grow within 72 hours and can become a larger problem.
It is very crucial to keep rain gutters clean, ditches clear from debris and water draining away from your home. Please call if you have further questions, we are here to help.
