Good news for Florida renters! Florida Insurance Commissioner Mike Yaworsky has approved an average **12.8% rate decrease** for American Modern Home Insurance Company’s renters insurance (HO-4) policies, impacting approximately 121,898 exposures.

📅 Effective yesterday October 11 for new policies and renewals.

📍 Some policyholders could see even bigger decreases, with average reductions reaching up to 13.9% in certain Florida counties!

💡 Why it matters: Renters insurance helps protect your personal belongings against covered losses and provides personal liability coverage, without covering the building itself.

🚨 HOT OFF THE PRESS: Florida homeowners are seeing some encouraging movement on insurance rates.

Florida Insurance Commissioner Mike Yaworsky has approved significant homeowners insurance rate decreases from four carriers, impacting more than 62,000 policies at renewal.

Approved reductions include:
• One Alliance North America: -10.4%
• Safe Harbor: -4.1%
• Unique Insurance: -3.2%
• Vyrd Insurance: -10.4%

And this may not be the last of the good news. The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation says multiple additional rate-decrease requests are currently under review.

For homeowners, this is an important reminder: the insurance market is changing, and it’s worth staying informed about what’s happening with your coverage and premium.
