Take a look around right now. The walls, the equipment, the inventory, the computer you're reading this on. All of it adds up to what you've built.

Here's what it typically covers:

🏗️ Your building: Repairs or rebuilding after a covered loss. Leasing? Improvements you've made may also be covered.
📦 Your contents: Furniture, equipment, inventory, supplies.
💰 Lost income: Not automatically included on a property policy, but can be added or bundled into a BOP.

🤞 The best policy is the one you never use. 🛡️

Insurance is a strange thing to buy. You pay for it month after month, year after year, hoping you'll never actually have to use it. 💭

But that's kind of the point.

Stop me if you’ve heard this:

"I don't live in a flood zone." "My house is on a hill." "It's never flooded here before."

The reality? Flooding can happen almost anywhere. According to FEMA, just 1 inch of water in a home can cause damage totaling upwards of $25,000. 😳

But what is a flood?

Flooding is not a burst pipe in your house, or a leaky appliance, or an overflowing toilet. If the water comes from inside your house, it isn’t flooding.

But water flowing in from outside? That’s a flood. It can be from things like:

🌪️ Stronger and more frequent storms 🏗️ New development changing how water drains 🌊 Rising sea levels and shifting weather patterns 🛣️ Aging infrastructure that can't keep up with heavy rain.
