It was constructed in 1836 for Madame Celeste Destrehan, widow of Prosper Marigny. Prosper Marigny was the son of Bernard de Marigny; Bernard de Marigny was the first to sell land to Rossette Rochon. The house architecturally mirrored the neighboring residence at 906 Esplanade.
