Monday morning, the final signing (closing) took place for the acquisition of a specialized running shoe store in Orlando. The first contact with Julia and Ludovic was in March 2023. Like many of our clients, they needed an investor visa to finalize the acquisition.
We interact and discover the skills and tastes of this incredibly friendly couple. A business in sports would be ideal. It turns out we've already visited a business that seems to match their criteria. The sellers are unfortunately a bit on the defensive because our previous buyer backed out in a rather unusual way. So, there is a heightened need to prove our genuineness. The sellers are undoubtedly serious people.
The seller's broker knows his job well and asks the right questions. Right from the beginning, there's a "perfect fit" between the buyer and seller, which is a huge advantage for the success of the transaction. What follows is what I'd almost call an "ideal transaction". The offer, which includes a clause conditional on obtaining a visa, is accepted. The due diligence period goes splendidly; the sellers provide all the requested documents, the buyers analyze them, ask for clarifications, and their good impression of the health of the business is confirmed.
The immigration attorney works concurrently, we draft the business plan, and the file is sent to the embassy. The embassy interview takes place on September 15th, lasting about fifteen minutes with quite a few questions. However, the clients know their case inside out and logically receive approval. They return to the USA, move near the business, and proceed to the closing.
They are now at the helm of their business, and we wish them good luck.
