Here are some great tips from the City of Orange.

The cold weather is moving in, and an arctic front is possible early next week. With temperatures dropping below freezing, here are some tips to stay safe, warm, and dry:

❄️ Know what to do before, during, and after a storm and potential power outages
❄️ Listen to weather reports and local officials
❄️ Winterize your home against the elements
❄️ Have supplies ready in case of an emergency: water, food, batteries, blankets, charged devices, and a plan for medical devices that use electricity and medicine that needs refrigerating
❄️ Heat your home safely: stay aware of any open flames and avoid carbon monoxide poisoning by only using generators outdoors in a well-ventilated area and never heating your home with a gas stovetop or oven
❄️ If you must go outside, dress in warm layers and be aware of frozen and slick surfaces
❄️ Bring pets and plants inside
❄️ Stay off the roads
❄️ Check on your neighbors, family, and friends
