No cold calling! We call and meet with people that requested for us to contact them. Work hours are flexible.
No experience necessary!!!
Let me be completely honest. I love what I do. It has given my family and me financial opportunities that were not achievable with my corporate oilfield job of 12 years.
However, it was not easy either. Please do not be fooled into thinking once you become a Life Insurance Broker, you will instantly become wealthy. It does not work that way. I assure you, in given time, a strong work ethic and a 'never give up' attitude, will be the 'not so secret' path for success.
You genuinely have to care about people. This position requires meeting with people from all different walks of life. You must be likable, sincere, understanding, and have the innate ability just to listen. You have to honestly care about your clients. They have to know and feel they can trust you.
We are not 'Sales People'. We are protecting the family's legacy. We are making sure a family can pay off their mortgage, their children are able to go to college, their funeral expenses are covered, the spouse and kids have the funds to continue living without a financial disruption due to an untimely death. We are protecting their retirement funds so they can retire worry free. We are more than a sales broker. We become family.
We like to say that anyone can do this, but we know it's not for everyone. I tell people all the time that it's the easiest job and the hardest job that I've ever had. Some days you will love what you are doing and some days you will cry and second guess yourself. It can be scary. Most people aren't use working for themselves and being their own boss. They have to be told what to do.
Being your own boss can be liberating but you can fall flat on your face quickly. People don't realize how much harder your have to work when you own your business. This is where people get into trouble. They lack discipline and don't keep a fortified work schedule. Just like a 'job', you will need a schedule. The beauty about our business is that you can set your schedule however you want but it must be consistent every week.
Another alarming fact about becoming an Life Insurance Broker is that most people dont make it to their first year. In my experience, 2 out of 10 will quit within the first two months. By the third and fourth month, 2 more may be gone. In the sixth month, we are probably down to 3 or 4 still moving along. At the end of the year, we may have 1 or 2 still pushing away.
There's many factors as to the Life Insurance attrition.
1). Discipline - working a consistent schedule every week.
2). Poor upline - their manager misled them. Doesn't train them properly or help them become successful. Hires too many at one time and can't offer proper guidance.
3). Buying enough leads. Yes, you will need to purchase leads. These are the forms that people fill out requesting us to call them.
4). Scared to call the leads miltiple times. You have to realize they filled out a form requesting us to call
5). Only want to work certain days or hours
6). Doesn't ask for help
7). Not coachable. Remember, we are a team. Your success is our success.
8). Discipline
9). Buying enough leads
10). Calling enough times
I hope I did not scare you away. I just wanted to be transparent. I love what I do but it's not easy, yet, it is. You will have bad days and you will have good days. Not every we meet will say yes. On average, starting out, 1 out of 4/5 will say, yes. After a month or 50 appointments, you will be much better will close more appointments. Once you hit 100 appointments, everything slows down and you'll know what your client is going to say before they say it.
I know it is crazy to to think about wanting to get into something that most people dont make it. It is tough. It's going to take discipline and the willpower to not want to give up. You have to understand most people will say no, especially in your first few months. You have to trust our system. You have to purchase leads. It's a business. It's your business.
It only takes a couple of people to say yes each week to change your financial situation for the better.
We just need to know if you believe in yourself. Stop working for someone else making them rich. Here's an opportunity to work for yourself and change your financial outlook with hard work and discipline. You just have to believe in yourself.
