A helpful 2027 Part D update 💊 The out-of-pocket threshold for covered prescription drugs will be $2,400 per person, up from $2,100 in 2026. Once qualifying out-of-pocket spending reaches that threshold, you automatically enter catastrophic coverage and pay nothing out of pocket for covered Part D drugs for the rest of the calendar year. Certain payments made on your behalf, including Extra Help, may count toward the threshold.
Your actual costs still depend on your plan’s premium, deductible, copays, and coinsurance. During Medicare AEP (October 15–December 7, 2026), reviewing your prescriptions against 2027 plan options can help you understand how coverage may fit your needs.
