🚨FMCSA Removes Three ELDs from Registered List 🚨

Today, FMCSA removed three Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) from its list of approved devices for use in commercial motor vehicles.

“Since January 2025, FMCSA has taken decisive action - removing 67 noncompliant devices that failed to meet federal standards - to protect the integrity of the ELD program, and we will continue to identify and remove any device that falls short,” said FMCSA Administrator Derek D. Barrs

Drivers using the revoked ELD must switch to paper logs immediately. Motor carriers have 60 days to replace the device.

🚨ALERT: Recent Phishing Scheme Targeting Motor Carriers🚨

FMCSA has identified an aggressive phishing campaign.

Emails falsely claiming to be from FMCSA/USDOT ask for sensitive info or payments and link to non-government (non-.gov) sites.

Remember, official FMCSA emails almost always use a .gov domain. In special cases, such as surveys after Contact Center calls, emails may come from non-.gov addresses but request feedback only, no sensitive info.

If unsure, don’t click links—verify with FMCSA Contact Center (https://ask.fmcsa.dot.gov/app/ticket ) and report scams to FBI IC3 (https://www.ic3.gov ).

Spot market conditions showed mixed movement in Week 49 as rates cooled after the post-Thanksgiving surge, according to new FTR data. Overall spot rates slipped for the first time in four weeks, with refrigerated and dry van rates pulling back while flatbed rates continued to climb. Flatbed pricing reached its strongest level in ten weeks, supported by steady construction and manufacturing freight.

Load volumes eased nearly 5% from last week’s spike but remained well above last year’s levels. Truck postings rose slightly, causing the Market Demand Index to dip after hitting a seven-month high. While Week 50 often brings softer rates, history shows capacity can tighten quickly around Christmas, especially for dry van and refrigerated freight. The full breakdown highlights where rates and volumes may head next as the holiday window approaches.
