Still, Renting?
If you said yes, you aren’t alone. According to US Census data, in 2021, the total number of renters in America was around 114M, or about 35% of the total US population.
Some more fun facts, the average American’s rent is around $1326/m. This figure is rising at a rate of 8.69% per year. That is a lot of money. In one year, that adds up to $15,912 that you’re paying toward your landlord’s mortgage. Think about it this way, the average home value in Wisconsin, where I live, is about $237,000. If you applied that $15,912 to a $237,000 home, you would own nearly 7% of the equity in that home.
Could you be a homeowner? I think you can! Let’s say you purchased a home for $236,000. Based on today’s rates, would give you a principal interest payment of about $1200. Add the taxes and insurance to that payment, and you’re right around $1600/m.
No-down-payment? No problem. Down-payment assistance (DPA) programs can help a qualified buyer purchase a home with no money down.

recognizes the canine firefighters that have long been members of fire departments across the country.

Even though Dalmations weren’t the only dogs fit for carriage work, they were the ones who mostly filled the role of fire dogs. They were also easily identified by their spotted and speckled coats.

Happy National Fire Pup Day to all the 4-legged firefighters!
